Comments: The house is a duplex and is divided into two units. Each unit includes a living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and three bedrooms. The house is handicapped accessible. There is a beautiful patio and garden behind the house and it is in walking distance to downtown Luverne and the city park. The house waa recently remodeled throughout the upstairs. It has a whirlpool bath A van is provided that has a lift. Currently there are two females and three males that reside at this. One of the females here is retired and the other female and three males work at Rock County Opportunity during the day. The individuals enjoy going for walks, playing games, going for van rides, gardening, shopping, out for meals and movies. Staff are trained in Vulnerable Adult, the use of a Rule 40 program, medication administration, CPR, First Aid, hoyer lift training, liquid thickener use, dietary needs, passive range of motion, personal hygiene and working with persons with Mental Retardation, Alzheimer, seizure protocols and Schizophrenia.

Comments: This is a newly developed house of one year and two the people that live there have TBI and the focus is on rehabilitation. The house is in a quiet part of the neighborhood, with a small park within walking distance. The city of Luverne offers shopping, various restaurants, a movie theater, and state park and city parks. Luverne is only 35 miles from Sioux Falls SD, which has many medical professionals and services available. The ages are from 12 to 38. Interests at this time are watching sports, fishing, and outdoors activities, along with being very involved in family. The bedroom available are on the main floor of the house and wheelchair accessible. There is a day program (Rock County Opportunities) available to those who wish to work in Luverne, along with new "Alley Center" program for people with TBI, that offers a more peaceful work environment, and community work sites available. Staff are trained in TBI, seizure disorders, Transfers, Behavior plans, medication administration, ROM, CPR, First Aid, VA and all required state training.
